Anis versi Trafalga Square plak
|
|
Masa ikut papa ke London baru2 nie, Anis sempat singgah kat Trafalgar Square yg femes ni. Ramainya org hari tu..maklumlah panas terik... diorang siap rendam kaki dalam kolam air pancut tu. Anis pun nak jugak berendam dalam tu, tapi mama tak kasi plak
Ni kali kedua lah kalau nak diikutkan Anis sampai kat sini.
| Quote: | Throughout the 1800s, the area in and around the square went through some major changes. In 1832 work began on the National Gallery, based on designs by the architect William Wilkins. Once this work was completed, in 1838, Sir Charles Barry (architect of the Palace of Westminster) presented a plan for the development of Trafalgar Square. Barry’s proposal included an upper terrace next to the National Gallery and a lower level square, linked by a staircase and including the Nelson memorial statue and two fountains.
In 1843 Nelson’s Column, designed by William Railton, was erected, and in 1845, the fountains were built based on designs thought to be by Sir Charles Barry. Sir Edwin Landseer designed the bronze lions that were placed on guard at the base of Nelson’s Column in 1867. In 1876, the Imperial Measures - detailing inches, feet, yards, links, chains, perches and poles - were set into the north terrace wall. When the central staircase was added, the measures were relocated, and you can now find information about them outside the café on the square |
Singa besar nie ada empat semua, duduk di empat bucu Nelson's Column tue... desidgnernya Sir Edwin Landseer..tujuan dibina tugu singa2 nie untuk protect Nelson's Column tu
Berhampiran dengan TS nie ada National gallery...sapa2 yang minat tgk lukisan blh la singgah..free ajer masuk...Anis layan berposing depan national gallery ajelah

Anis Menjejak Queen di ~ Windsor Castle
|
|
Misi Anis minggu nie ialah menjejak Queen of England , sapa lagi kalau bukan Queen Elizabeth II. Pusing punya pusing, bayang queen pun tak nampak... yang ada hanyalah pengawal-pengawal istana yang segak bertopi tinggi tue... tapi Anis takut la plak dgn pengawal tue. Luas istana nie sampai lenguh jugak kaki Anis. Layan aje lah gambar2 Anis kat istana ni ye...
Puas hati walaupun sehari suntuk dan abih lenguh kaki meronda istana nie... berbaloi pegi jauh2 dan beratur panjang nak beli tiket.
| Quote: | | Windsor is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and Official Residence of Her Majesty The Queen. Its rich history spans almost 1000 years. The Castle covers an area of about 5 hectares (13 acres) and contains magnificent State Apartments furnished with treasures from the Royal Collection, St George's Chapel (one of the most beautiful ecclesiastical buildings in England and the burial place of 10 monarchs), and Queen Mary's Dolls House, a masterpiece in miniature. |

Vaisakhi Celebration & Koleksi bunga kantanku
|
|
Kebetulan dah sampai kat luar tue, sempatlah Anis posing kat signboard nama jalan rumah kami...
Ni plak koleksi bunga kantan yang mama dapat sejak dua minggu lepas... baru teringat tadi pasal bunga kantan nie sebab dok belek2 resepi laksa penang. Bunga2 nie mama dapat dari kak Jie Jie, Mama Sakura, Brother Jeff dan Niza @ Mama Sofea. Thanks u all.. nie kita tanam kat fp... lelama simpan kat peti ais kecut plak kang
k lah... sempena bulan Mei nie.. mama Anis tak nak tag sesapa... tapi kalau u all berkenan ambiklah bawak balik gantung kat dinding

Jom tengok castle plak ~ Sudeley Castle
|
|
Tak abis lagi aktiviti melawat castle.. maklumlah kat UK ni byk btl castle sama ada yg dah separuh runtuh atau masih elok. Setiap castle ada uniknya tersendiri... sbb tue kami suka singgah utk tengok castle kat mana2 ajer tempat yg dikunjungi. Kalau istana kat negara kita dpt tengok dr jauh ajerlah... Castle kat sini siap blh masuk tour lagi walaupun masih ada orang yang tinggal kat situ. Cuma kat bahagian yg diorang duduk tue tak bleh masuk lah... stricly private (kecuali bila ada funtion tertentu br blh).
Sedikit info tentang castle nie... dicopy & paste dari web : http://www.sudeleycastle.co.uk/
| Quote: | Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Cotswold Hills, Sudeley Castle is steeped in history. With royal connections spanning a thousand years, it has played an important role in the turbulent and changing times of England's past.
The Castle was once home to Queen Katherine Parr, the last and only surviving wife of Henry VIII. Henry, Anne Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey and Queen Elizabeth I have all lived at or visited Sudeley. King Charles 1 stayed here and his nephew, Prince Rupert, established his headquarters at the Castle during the Civil War.
Following its destruction by Cromwell's troops, Sudeley lay neglected and derelict for two hundred years. However, its romantic situation and ruins attracted many visitors, including King George III.
In 1837, Sudeley was bought by John and William Dent, of the Worcestershire glove making company of that name. They began an ambitious restoration programme which was continued by their nephew John Coucher Dent, who inherited the Castle in 1855. His wife, Emma, threw herself enthusiastically into Sudeley's restoration, at the same time forging strong links with the town of Winchcombe. It is the results of Emma Dent's dedication that is so evident in the gardens and exhibitions at Sudeley today.
Sudeley is now the family home of the Dent-Brocklehursts and Lord & Lady Ashcombe. The family are dedicated to Sudeley's continuted restoration and regeneration of the gardens, with particular emphasis on conservation and sustainability. |

Anis Day Out
|
|
| Quote: | Broadway Tower is one of England’s outstanding viewpoints and, at 1024 feet (312m) above sea level, it is the second highest point on the Cotswold Ridge. Built in 1799, it is a perfect example of an eighteenth century Gothic folly from which it is possible to survey an area which includes as many as thirteen counties.
The views encompass the Vales of Evesham and Gloucester and on a clear day you may also see across the Severn Valley and as far as the Welsh Mountains. Today, the Tower houses fascinating exhibitions connected with its past and the surrounding area. Noteable occupants include Sir Thomas Phillips, renowned printer of his time and Pre-Raphaelite artists including designer, writer and craftsman William Morris, who used the Tower as a country retreat. The Morris Room is furnished with some of his more famous designs. |
